How is artificial fertiliser made?

Most commercial fertilizer is from minerals that are mined.
There are two main ways. Artifical fertilizer is mostly nitrogen. The nitrogen is distilled out of crude oil, or fixed nitrogen is obtained from the air using the Haber-Bosch process. A great book was written about the invention of that process called
